In this work we report the preparation of a inorganic-organic nanocomposite
, obtained by the in situ oxidative polymerization of aniline inside the la
yers of alpha-Sn(HPO4)(2 .)H2O (alpha-SnP). Two approaches were used to obt
ain the alpha-SnP/polyaniline nanocomposite. Firstly, hydrogen atoms of alp
ha-SnP were exchanged with Fe3+ cation to promote aniline polymerization. S
econdly aniline was intercalated in alpha-SnP and polymerization was perfor
med by (NH4)(2)S2O8 solution. Both resulting material leads to formation of
polyaniline in its conducting form, the emeraldine salt. The characterizat
ion results suggest the formation of linear polymer chains between the alph
a-SnP layers.
