PANI base was doped in PdCl2 aqueous solutions of low acidity containing pr
edominantly electrically neutral [PdCl2(H2O)(2)] complexes. Under these con
ditions partial (80%) reduction of Pd2+ to Pd-0 took place. Pd-0 created in
this way was present in the form of crystalline particles (XRD, SEM). Pd-P
ANI exhibited catalytic activity in the liquid phase 2-ethylanthraquinone h
ydrogenation. The rate and the selectivity of hydrogenation depended on the
Pd-0 amount in catalysts.
