We have investigated the electrical characteristics of sensitive films for
an in-plane to develop the gas sensor using Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method.
The itaconate copolymer (C(18)ITA-VE2) is used as sensitive materials. The
conductivity of C(18)ITA-VE2 is distributed in the range of 10(-7)similar t
o 10(-6)[S/cm], which corresponds to the range of the semiconductor. We hav
e investigated the conductivity change of C(18)ITA-VE2 LB films after injec
tion of organic gases. In the experimental results, the relation of sensiti
ve materials and organic gases can be divided by three-region. Thus, we can
fabricate the modelling of the gas response characteristics using the cond
uctivity change of C(18)ITA-VE2 LB films.
