Dr. Greve et al., Directed self-assembly of amphiphilic regioregular polythiophenes on the nanometer scale., SYNTH METAL, 102(1-3), 1999, pp. 1502-1505
Regioregular polythiophenes possessing alternating hydrophobic and hydrophi
lic substituents have bean synthesized and fully characterized. The amphiph
ilic nature of the polymer allows it to assemble at the air-water interface
forming highly ordered domains. Directed self-assembly of the resulting co
nducting monolayer into a microelectronic chip structure is described.
