Abstract
Action of acids on TTFs affords cation radicals or/and protonated species, depending on conditions and substituents. The reaction of TTF derivatives w ith acids has been monitored using W-Vis and nmr spectroscopy. Stoichiometr ic cation-radical salts have been synthesized by preparative oxidation of T TFs using phenyliodoso diacetate and an acid for comparison. A general sche me for the interaction of TTFs with acids is suggested.
