Macromolecule metal composites ate promising candidates for materials with
special magnetic, optical and electrical properties. The synthesis and char
acterisation of copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes of poly-(exo,exo-7-oxab
icyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-en-2,3-carboxylic acid) are presented. Infrared spectro
scopy and x-ray diffractometry gave information about the structural proper
ties. The compounds showed weak antiferromagnetic interactions, bur no phas
e transitions in the temperature range 4.2 - 200 K.
