Abstract
The conversion process of PPV precursor containing a tetrahydrothiophene gr oup was studied by different techniques. Conversion temperatures were chose n according to DSC measurements. Conversion included elimination of water a nd tetrahydrothiophenium groups which leads to the increase of T-g, followe d by modulated DSC technique, for the precursor because of elimination of p lasticizing components. X-ray diffraction showed densification of the mater ial going along with an increase in conjugation length.
