The results of temperature dependence of de conductivity (sigma(dc)(T)), ma
gnetic susceptibility (chi) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) are
compared for electrochemically and chemically synthesized polypyrrole (PPy)
samples. From the XPS experiments, interchain links or side chains for che
mically synthesized PPy soluble in organic solvents are reduced by similar
to 10% compared to those of electrochemically synthesized PPy because of ch
emical process using large size dopant. Based on temperature dependence of
sigma(dc)(T), the systems are in the insulator or the critical regime. The
effects of dopant on structure and charge transport of PPy systems are disc
ussed.
