Polyvinylene disulfide (-S-CH=CH-S-)(n) was synthesized from (E)-1,2 dithio
cyanathoethene and doped by protic acids to afford conducting materials wit
h conductivity values as high as 10(-2) Scm(-1). The development of an impo
rtant ESR activity was induced by the doping process while SQUID measuremen
ts revealed a decrease of the susceptibility with increasing doping level.
A two step charge transfer is proposed to explain the doping process by pro
tic acids of the polymer.
