Abstract
Rod-like molecules of parasexiphenyl were vacuum deposited onto alignment l
ayers. These layers were chemically different polyimide or polytetrafluoroe
thylene copolymer and showed different pretilt angles. Spectroscopic and st
ructural characterizations were carried out to investigate the orientation
of parasexiphenyl molecules with respect to the substrate plane.
