Abstract
The lack of solubility and fusibility of PPV is a major problem by processi ng and structure determination. We succeeded in the metathetically preparat ion and isolation of soluble and meltable oligomers of a homologous series of alkylsubstituted all-trans-PPV. These conjugated products show a lot of interesting characteristics like self-organizing in a layer structure. In t his contribution we report about the chain length dependence of this struct ure on well defined 2,5-diheptyl PV oligomers.
