Abstract
A new simple method termed as in-situ doping polymerization at presence of special organic sulfonic acids as dopants was proposed to synthesize conduc ting microtubes of polypyrrole (PPy) and polyaniline (PANI). The resulting microtubes not only show high conductivity at room temperature (e.g 27 S/cm for PPy and 4 S/cm for PANI), but also are soluble hi some organic solvent s. Compared to "template synthesis(j)+/- method, which is an effective meth od to synthesize microtubes of conducting polymers, the new method proposed by authors is much simpler without using template membrane and "molecular anchor", which are required for "template synthesis" method.
