We have been exploring the idea of using the porosity of organic (poly(viny
lidene fluoride)) and inorganic (sol-gel silica) films, as a template for t
he preparation of micro and nanocomposites containing conducting polymer. S
mall angle X-ray scattering was used to obtain a porosity size distribution
of the template materials. The presence of electroactive polyaniline withi
n the pores of these materials was confirmed using cyclic voltammetry, UV-V
isible spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy measurements.
