Abstract
A high magnetic field induces birefringence in CSA-protonated polyaniline s olutions in m-cresol indicative of high chain orientation. Films cast from these solutions under a high magnetic field show conductivity and chain ori entation anisotropy. The data suggest that the chains are oriented in the p lane of the film with a preferential direction parallel to the field.
