The scattering of an intense sound wave by a Helmholtz resonator can be des
cribed by a nonlinear (to take into account the hydrodynamic effects in the
resonator throat) zero-range potential model. The case in which the wave i
s linear everywhere except in the resonator throat is considered. A compari
