Abstract
The scattering of an intense sound wave by a Helmholtz resonator can be des cribed by a nonlinear (to take into account the hydrodynamic effects in the resonator throat) zero-range potential model. The case in which the wave i s linear everywhere except in the resonator throat is considered. A compari son with the results of other models is made. (C) 1999 American Institute o f Physics.
