Abstract
The title compound, [Sn(C10H8NO)(2)], displays a unique geometry, looking l ike a two-bladed screw. The geometry about the Sn center is distorted pseud o-trigonal bipyramidal, with an equatorial Sn-II lone pair and two N,O-bide ntate 8-quinolinolate ligands. The angle between the two quinoline planes i s 91.6(1)degrees. The molecule has approximate C2 symmetry. The presence of a near-C2 axis shows that the molecule has an axial chirality.
