O. Veisz et T. Tischner, COMPARISON OF THE SEEDLING DEVELOPMENT AN D FROST-RESISTANCE OF CEREAL PLANTS GROWN IN LIGHT WITH DIFFERENT SPECTRA, Novenytermeles, 46(1), 1997, pp. 13-21
The new plant growth conditions available in the reconstructed Martonv
asar phytotron, which differ considerably as regards the spectral comp
osition of the light, made it necessary to investigate whether previou
sly elaborated phytotronic methods (e.g. for the testing of frost resi
stance) could be used unchanged under the present conditions or whethe
r modifications were required. The expreiments were designed to trace
the frost resistance of winter cereals grown at identical photon flux
density provided by fluorescent tubes or metal halide lamps. The exper
iments also made it possible to compare the dynamics of seedling devel
opment in plants raised in light with different spectra.
