Abstract
If the photon dispersion relation is (pc)(2) = E-2 + E-3/E-QG, as suggested in certain approaches to quantizing gravity, then high energy photons may be unable to pair-create on cosmic microwave background (CBR) and infrared background (IR) photons. If E-QG similar to 10(16) GeV, powerful sources of TeV radiation, e.g. in AGNs, could be detectable out to large redshifts. ( C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
