The relativistic Hartree-Fock approach taking intravalence configuration in
teraction effects into account is used for calculating transition probabili
ties and lifetimes in singly ionized indium. A core-polarization model has
been employed to account for core-valence correlation effects on both the w
avefunctions and total energies. Comparisons of the lifetime values with th
e rather scarce experimental lifetimes available in the literature, particu
larly for the metastable levels excited in ion traps, call for additional h
igh-quality measurements. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
