Abstract
In the extraction of alkaline earth cations by acidic organophosphorus extr actants, a correlation has been demonstrated between the effectiveness of t he stereoisomers of dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 as synergists and the strain e nergy associated with conversion of the unbound crown ether to its complexe d form.
