Syntheses and biological activities of 2-arylamidothioacyl-3-isothiozolones and 4-cyano-5-methylthio-2-arylamidothioacyl-3-isothiozolones

Novel compounds, 8-aryiamidothioacyl-3-isothiozolones 6 and 4-cyano-5-methy lthio-2-arylamidothioacyl-3-isothiozolones 7 were synthesized by reacting o f 3-hydroxyisothiozoles (4, 5) with aryl isothiocyanates 3, The unique coup ling constants of 4-H and 5-H of isothiazole ring of compounds 6 were disco vered and explained according to the coplanarity of isothiazole ring with t hioacyl group, The preliminary test of fungicidal activity showed that some of the title compounds possessed promising activity.
