Synthesized and biological activity of beta-chloro-substituted propenol prethreid

Twenty new compounds were synthesized by acylation reaction of P-chloro-sub stituted propenol with 3-(2, 2-dichlorovinyl)-2, 2-dimethylcyclopropane car bonyl chloride, 3-(2,2-dimethylvinyl)-2, 2-dimethyl-cycloprepane carbonyl c hloride and 2-( 4-chlorobenzenyl)-2-isopropyl carbonyl chloride. Their stru ctures were confirmed by means of elemetal analysis and H-1 NMR; the prelim inary biological tests show that the knock down activities(KT50) against mo squito of the compounds I 6(3.9 min) and I 15(4.2 min) are higher than the compared insecticide methothrin(KT50 5.7 min and 4.8 min respectively), and the title compounds I, when Y=H, have better insecticidal activities than which Y=CN.
