Abstract
A facile one-step method is presented for the synthesis of 1-acylindolizine s in moderate yields by the reaction of pyridinium salts with Mannich bases in the presence of NaHCO3 and a mild oxidizing agent, tetrakispyridine cob alt dichromate (TPCD).
