Intracoronary stenting: An overview for the clinician

Intracoronary stenting reduces restenosis rates and effectively treats abru pt vessel closure, two frequent complications following percutaneous corona ry angioplasty (PTCA). But it has drawbacks, such as in-stent restenosis, h igh cost, and lack of long-term follow-up data. This paper discusses curren t indications and the future role of stenting.
