Abstract
An experimental observation is reported on the effects of an asymmetric pow
er change along an optical fibre with respect to the optical phase conjugat
or position on the bit error rate (BER) performance in a midway optical pha
se conjugation (OPC) system. The system is applied to received RF power fad
ing cancellation in 60GHz subcarrier multiplexed (SCM) optical double sideb
and (DSB) signal transmission system over 100 km of non-dispersion-shifted
fibre.
