Abstract
Error-free repeaterless transmission of two 10Gbit/s wavelength-division mu ltiplexed channels over 236km using adiabatic soliton propagation has been demonstrated. The 150GHz optical bandwidth of each channel is converted by the adiabatic evolution to 12.5GHz, allowing dense wavelength multiplexing. Channel separations of 100 and 675GHz are compared.
