Abstract
It is shown that the controlled multi-tapering of singlemode optical fibres can be considered as another degree of freedom in tailoring the spectral c haracteristics of dynamic acousto-optic filters. This results in optical fi lters with complex spectral responses, requiring only a single-frequency ac oustic drive.
