Abstract
An adaptive fuzzy logic controller is presented for implementing a fuzzy de ad-zone inverse which is used to cancel out the dead-zone effect. For this purpose, a sensitivity function is defined using a normalised state distanc e from the origin and applied to updating scaling factors. The performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by applying it to an inverted pen dulum system with unknown or time-varying dead-zones.
