A new method is presented for distribution system reliability assessment Th
e method brings two distinct features. The first one is related to minimal
path determination and is mainly derived from an existing method by slight
modifications. The second one is rebated to simulation of active failures a
nd provides a considerable time saving. The principle depends on the S and
SS groups, established for the nodes existing in basic minimal cut sets. Th
e proposed method is applied to a sample distribution network and the repor
ted numerical values are attained with less effort.
