We study the aggregation behaviors of polyhydroxylated fullerenes (fulleren
ols) in aqueous solutions using small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). The sc
attering results show that the highly water soluble C-60(OH)(18) form mainl
y small aggregates of a few tens Angstrom in size. The structure of the agg
regates for the concentrations studied, from 0.625 wt % to 10 wt %, can be
characterized with a fractal dimension of 2.5.
