Abstract
The elastic pair potential model of liquid crystal molecules was described. On the basis of Poniewiersky-Stecki statistical theory of the elastic cons tants of nematic liquid crystals, the effects of non-ideal rigid repulsion between molecules on the elastic constants of nematics were studied.
