Fluorination of 2-chloroethyl methyl ether by potassium tetrafluorocob
altate at 180-250 degrees C gave various tri-, tetra-, penta- and hexa
fluoro(2-chloroethyl methyl) ethers. Cobalt trifluoride afforded the s
ame products in poorer recoveries. Structures were established spectre
scopically. Cl-2-UV and CHClFCHFOCHF2 gave halogeno-ethers by exchange
of Cl for both H and also F. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A. All right
