Abstract
For two-phase binary alloys, pertinent information includes the fractions a nd compositions of each phase. We propose a method to obtain this informati on from X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) data. Tests of the pro cedure using Fe-Ni fee and bce standards indicate the method is accurate to within 5%. The method should be applicable to other two-phase binary syste ms, e.g, ball-milled Fe/Cu.
