Abstract
Graft copolymerization of methyl acrylate (MA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA ) onto polyamide film by the mutual method in aqueous medium in air has bee n studied. The percentage of grafting (Pg) has been determined as a functio n of: (i) total dose, (ii) monomer concentration and (iii) amount of water. Several grafting experiments were conducted in a water-alcohol mixed solve nt and effect of alcohols of different chain lengths on Pg has been studied . All the alcohols used except MeOH, decreased Pg. The graft copolymers wer e characterized by IR spectroscopic and thermogravimetric analysis.
