In a double-notch specimen cut from a copper single crystal, dislocation gl
ide on a (010) non-compact crystal plane was generated by compressive creep
in regions near a notch edge, outside the zone of shear. This glide probab
ly substituted a successive glide of a/2 [110] dislocations on two {111} pl
anes in the bi-axial stress field. Dislocation structures on the (010) plan
e were investigated by transmission electron microscopy. (C) 1999 Elsevier
