Abstract
It is shown by the example of three types of the electronic configurations in isoelectronic sequences of nitrogen, carbon, and nickel that most atomic configurations are subjected to unbalanced interactions. The account for t hese interactions considerably improves the accuracy of theoretical predict ions of atomic spectra.
