A. Rimmerman et N. Keren, LETTING GO - PARENTAL ATTITUDES TOWARD OUT-OF-HOME PLACEMENT OF THEIRCHILDREN WITH PSYCHIATRIC DISABILITY, Psychosocial rehabilitation journal, 19(2), 1995, pp. 3-8
The purpose of de research was to study parental attitudes toward out-
of-home placement among 89 parents of adult children with psychiatric
disabilities. The core findings were that parents gave more thought to
placement when they had lower marital and parental stress. Their inte
ntion to place was related to low domestic stress. Furthermore those p
arents with more internal resources bad low stress levels and concomit
ant favorable attitudes toward placement. The findings are interpreted
in relation to future research and practice.
