The painful hip in childhood

The etiology of the painful hip in children is widespread. In this paper, p redominants cases without previous trauma are discussed in detail. Dependin g on age, history, clinical picture and laboratory results, an imaging diag nostic algorithm is presented, which should avoid unnecessary tests and lea d to the necessary therapeutic measure. Several common as well as uncommon clinical entities are illustrated by representative examples.
