Abstract
Capnometer measurements during 46 evaluable treatments in which patients we re administered carbogen (95% O-2, 5% CO2) have demonstrated that the mean inspired carbon dioxide level was 3.1% (range 0-4.7) and the mean inspired oxygen concentration was 70.6% (range 26.4-94). The explanation for this ob servation is leakage of air into the breathing system during radiotherapy. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.
