Abstract
The chemical composition of the essential oil from the roots of Angelica sy lvestris L. was studied. The structure of the major component, the tricycli c hydroazulene sesquiterpene (+)-globulol, which was isolated from a natura l object for the first time, was established based on X-ray diffraction ana lysis.
