A proposed South African think tank for our continent and the world

South Africa, happily, is no longer a world pariah but an acknowledged memb er of the global village. Our scientific institutions have not yet caught u p with our new status, however, and while policies support internationalism and interdisciplinarity, theory still needs to be translated into practice . A forum specifically tasked with structured 'think tank' activity can, I propose, lead this country and its researchers into world leadership.
