Abstract
Symmetrical cyclic and acyclic acetals by oxidation with Oxone(R) gave the corresponding esters in good yield. Treatment of tetrahydropyranyl derivati ves of alcohols with the same reagent resulted in oxidative regeneration of the alcohols.
