Abstract
A poly(phenylenevinylene) (PPV) containing oxadiazole units in both the mai n chain and as main chain substituents was synthesized. Single-layer LED (l ight-emitting diodes) devices fabricated with this polymer show external ef ficiencies of 0.15% with calcium as the cathode and 0.068% with alumina as the cathode. In addition, these devices show good stability under ambient o perating conditions. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
