Abstract
An efficient synthesis of 3-aryl-4-aminocinnolines from ortho-trifluorometh ylphenyl hydrazones is described. The mechanism of the described transforma tion is likely to involve the formation of the quinone methide intermediate . The described procedure is easily adaptable to automated solid phase synt hesis leading to analytically pure heterocycles. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
