Abstract
Trans-[ Mo(III)Br(2)py(4)] Br-3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic, Pcnm spac e group, with a=7.670( 2), b=22.063(3) and c=15.237(1) Angstrom. Unit cell contains 4 formula units. Mo-Br and Mo-N( pyridine) bonds are 2.552(1) and 2.210(7), 2.222(8) Angstrom. Trans located pyridine rings are staggered. Tr ibromide ion is symmetrical, but not linear. The compound is isostructural with trans-[Mo(III)Cl(2)py(4)] Br-3.
