Climatic therapy: the effect on other organ systems by the example of the cardiovascular system

The positive effect of the high-altitude climatic therapy on the atopic dis eases has been known for decades. Considering contraindications that have b een described, diseases of the cardiovascular system are not impeding to su ch a therapy. On the opposite, a number of patients with arterial hypotensi on or hypertension and with coronary heart disease are profiting from a sta y in 1,500 m. over zero. The same is true for persons without cardiac probl ems. They can use the possibilities the climate offers to them for high-alt itude training.
