Abstract
Two hundred patients with atrial fibrillation underwent transthoracic cardi oversion using adhesive electrodes positioned at the apex and right infracl avicular area, and the apex electrode was randomly selected to serve as the cathode or anode. The mean defibrillation energy requirement with the cath odal configuration was significantly lower than with the anodal configurati on.
