Abstract
Phosphate and H-phosphonate derivatives of anti-HIV nucleoside analogues (A ZT and d4T) were prepared as potential prodrugs of the bio-active free nucl eotide and they were evaluated for their inhibitory effects on the replicat ion of HIV-1 in several cell culture systems. One compound exhibited an imp ortant anti-HIV-l activity and proved to be significantly more efficient th an the parent nucleoside. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserve d.
