Abstract
An improved method for implementing correlation filters in the joint transf orm, correlator architecture is proposed. We derived the method fi om compu ter-generated holography techniques. It allows us to use any correlation fi lters, especially ones that provide an optimal trade-off between noise robu stness, peak sharpness, and optical efficiency, with any spatial light modu lator (SLM).
