Abstract
Spectral narrowing has been observed in the emission of a rhodamine-6G-dope d layered TiO2/surfactant thin film by both visible and near-ultraviolet la ser excitation. Narrowing threshold was extensively decreased by combining waveguide and scatter gain and by exploiting the self-organizing capacity o f the surfactant molecules and the unusual optical matching between the TiO 2 nanoparticle layer and the organic surfactant layer.
